NOMO Violence Day
There have been calls across the city to have community-based organizations strategize how to curb the violence. NOMO’s (New Options New Opportunities) mission is to provide a safe place for youth to develop life skills and nurture their potential to break the cycle of violence (physical, psychological, cultural, verbal, financial, etc) in the lives of those we serve by providing them a pathway to success and poverty in their communities.

NOMO is championing a proactive strategy that coordinates organizations together at the right moment in an effort that makes sense and progresses to combat these issues.

Help Combat Violence In The
Lives Of Our Youth
NOMO’s mission is to provide a safe place for youth to develop life skills and nurture their potential to break the cycle of violence in the lives of those we serve by providing them a pathway to success and poverty in their communities.
OUR GOAL
Currently, NOMO operates in three strategically chosen locations within Philadelphia, specifically targeting communities that have long been underserved and unfortunately carry some of the highest rates of gun violence in the city. Through its direct engagement with youth who are part of the juvenile justice system, NOMO is deeply committed to equipping all of its participants with the essential tools they require to not only excel in their academic pursuits but also to create a sustained and secure environment for them beyond the school hours.
In pursuit of this vital mission, NOMO is proud to unveil the #NOMOviolence campaign, a comprehensive initiative that will collaborate closely with both local and national partners. The primary aim of this campaign is to ensure that our students receive the full spectrum of resources they need. These resources span from essential counseling services to foster emotional well-being, to career skill development programs that empower them for future success, and even the provision of basic school supplies. Through the #NOMOviolence campaign, NOMO is dedicated to nurturing the growth and potential of our youth, fostering safer communities, and striving for a brighter, violence-free future.
